Frost pocket
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005832
A low-lying area where cold, dense air collects, leading to significantly lower temperatures and a higher incidence of frost compared to surrounding higher ground. These areas are particularly susceptible to radiative cooling on clear, calm nights. Valleys and depressions often act as natural frost pockets, impacting agriculture.
