Heat of fusion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006196
The amount of latent heat absorbed or released when a substance changes between its solid and liquid states at a constant temperature. In meteorology, this applies to the melting of ice or freezing of water, where energy is exchanged without a change in temperature.
