Moist static energy

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007368

A thermodynamic quantity representing the total energy per unit mass of an air parcel, including its internal energy, potential energy dueled by its height, and latent heat content from water vapor. It is conserved during adiabatic and pseudoadiabatic processes, making it a valuable tool for analyzing atmospheric stability and convection. Moist static energy is expressed in units of Joules per kilogram (J/kg).
