Helmholtz equation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006222
A partial differential equation that arises in the study of wave phenomena, including atmospheric and oceanic waves. It is derived from the wave equation by assuming a time-harmonic solution. In meteorology, it can be applied to problems involving acoustic waves or certain types of atmospheric oscillations.
