Humilis
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006296
A cloud species characterized by a flattened, shallow appearance with limited vertical development. These clouds, most often associated with the cumulus genus as Cumulus humilis, indicate fair weather conditions with weak convection and stable air aloft that suppresses upward growth. Their vertical extent is noticeably less than their horizontal dimension, giving them a humble or modest profile against the sky.
