Ice desert

A polar region characterized by extremely low temperatures, very little precipitation, and a permanent cover of ice and snow. These areas are among the most arid on Earth, with annual precipitation often less than 250 millimeters, primarily falling as snow. The interior of Antarctica is a prime example of an ice desert.
