Kachchan

A strong, dry, and hot wind that blows across Sri Lanka, originating from the northeast during the dry season. This wind is a local manifestation of the northeast monsoon, bringing arid conditions to the eastern and northern parts of the island. It is characterized by its desiccating effect on vegetation and its association with high temperatures.
