Lambert conic projection
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006849
A map projection that uses a cone as the developable surface, where parallels are concentric arcs and meridians are straight lines radiating from a common center. It is often used for mapping mid-latitude regions because it preserves angles (conformal) and minimizes distortion over large areas. This projection is widely used for aeronautical charts.
