A strong, dry northerly wind that blows across the Aegean Sea, primarily during the summer months. This wind is a regional manifestation of the Etesian winds, driven by a pressure gradient between a high-pressure system over the Balkans and a low-pressure system over Turkey. It provides relief from summer heat but can create hazardous conditions for shipping.
