Nitrous acid
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007554
A weak inorganic acid with the chemical formula HNO2, which is unstable and exists primarily in solution or as a gas in the atmosphere. It is formed through the reaction of nitrogen dioxide with water vapor or through heterogeneous reactions on aerosol surfaces.
