Pendulum day
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007834
The period of rotation of the plane of oscillation of a Foucault pendulum, which varies with latitude. This period is inversely proportional to the sine of the latitude, meaning it is shortest at the poles and infinitely long at the equator. It demonstrates the Earth's rotation and the Coriolis effect on a large scale.
