Radar theodolite

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008279

A specialized radar system designed to track the position of a radiosonde or other meteorological target as it ascends through the atmosphere. It precisely measures the azimuth and elevation angles, along with the range to the target. This instrument provides accurate data for determining wind speed and direction at different altitudes, complementing or replacing optical tracking methods.
