Rayleigh atmosphere
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008422
A theoretical model of the Earth's atmosphere composed solely of molecules that scatter radiation according to Rayleigh's scattering law. This model neglects the presence of aerosols and clouds, simplifying the radiative transfer calculations. It is often used as a baseline for understanding the scattering properties of a clear, dry atmosphere.
