Sand haze
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008642
A suspension of fine sand particles in the atmosphere, reducing visibility over a wide area. This phenomenon occurs when strong winds lift loose sand from arid or semi-arid regions and transport it over considerable distances. Unlike a sandstorm, sand haze involves smaller particles and less severe visibility reduction, often appearing as a diffuse, yellowish or brownish veil.
