Scattered power
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008687
The portion of incident electromagnetic radiation that is redirected by particles in a medium, such as the atmosphere. This power is distributed over different angles and wavelengths, depending on the properties of the scattering particles and the incident radiation. It is a key component in remote sensing applications, where it is measured by instruments like lidar and radar.
