Solubility
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009046
The maximum concentration of a substance that can dissolve in a solvent at a given temperature and pressure to form a saturated solution. In atmospheric science, this property dictates how gases like carbon dioxide or sulfur dioxide dissolve into water droplets or oceans. Gas solubility generally decreases with increasing temperature and increases with increasing pressure.
