Spherical wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009137
A wave whose wavefronts are concentric spheres expanding or contracting from a central point source. The amplitude of a spherical wave decreases with distance from the source, typically inversely proportional to the distance in an ideal medium. This wave type is observed in sound propagation from a point source or in electromagnetic radiation emanating uniformly in all directions.
