Zonda

A warm, dry foehn wind that descends the eastern slopes of the Andes Mountains in Argentina. It results from the adiabatic warming of air as it flows down the leeward side of the mountain range. This wind can cause rapid temperature increases and reduced humidity in the affected regions.
