AGC time constant
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000072
The parameter that defines the time window or averaging period over which the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) algorithm calculates the average amplitude for gain adjustment. A shorter time constant results in more rapid gain changes, while a longer one produces smoother adjustments. The choice of time constant affects the appearance and interpretability of the seismic data.
