Archie equation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000171
A fundamental empirical relationship that links the electrical resistivity of a clean, water-saturated formation to its porosity and the resistivity of the formation water. It is widely used in petrophysics to calculate water saturation in hydrocarbon-bearing reservoirs. The equation requires parameters such as the cementation exponent and tortuosity factor.
