Archie rock
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000172
A reservoir rock that exhibits electrical properties consistent with the assumptions of the Archie equation, meaning it is clean (free of conductive clays) and its resistivity is primarily controlled by porosity and water saturation. Such rocks are typically sandstones or carbonates with intergranular porosity. The Archie equation provides accurate water saturation estimates in these formations.
