Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000224

An abbreviation for Amplitude Variation with Azimuth, which describes the change in seismic reflection amplitude as a function of the direction relative to the subsurface. This technique is used to detect and characterize fractured reservoirs and anisotropic rock formations. AVAZ analysis provides insights into fracture orientation and density.
