Backward multiple-contact test
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000251
A laboratory test that mimics repeated contact between fresh injection gas and the oil left near the injection well, as in a condensing gas drive. Oil is equilibrated with a portion of gas, the gas is removed, and the equilibrium oil is contacted with a new portion of fresh gas, repeating the step several times while the phase compositions are analyzed. The forward multiple-contact test does the reverse, carrying the equilibrium gas on to fresh oil as in a vaporizing drive.
