Forward multiple-contact test
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001542
A laboratory test that mimics the leading edge of a gas flood, as in a vaporizing gas drive, where the injected gas keeps meeting fresh oil. A sample of oil is equilibrated with gas, the equilibrium gas is separated and contacted with a new portion of fresh oil, and the step is repeated several times while the phase compositions are analyzed. The backward multiple-contact test does the reverse, contacting the equilibrium oil with fresh gas as in a condensing drive.
