Gas-oil contact
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001640
The interface within a reservoir where free gas overlies crude oil. This boundary is defined by the pressure equilibrium between the gas and oil phases, with gas occupying the upper portion of the reservoir due to its lower density. Its depth is determined from well logs, pressure measurements, and fluid samples.
