Fluid interface log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001504
A log that traces the depth of the interface between fluids of different density in the wellbore, such as gas over liquid or oil over water, from a density or gradiomanometer response. Repeated passes show whether the interface rises or falls as the well flows or is shut in. It locates a fluid interface inside the pipe, which is not the same as a reservoir fluid contact.
