Vertical response
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004035
The characteristic reading of a logging tool as it passes a boundary between two rock layers with different properties. This response function is determined by the tool's physics and design, defining how sharply it registers the change from one bed to another. For example, a tool with a sharp vertical response will show an abrupt change at a bed boundary, while one with a gradual response will show a smoother transition.
