Fluid contact
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001502
The interface or boundary between two immiscible fluids within a reservoir, such as oil and gas, oil and water, or gas and water. These contacts define the limits of hydrocarbon accumulation in a trap. The depth of fluid contacts is determined by reservoir pressure, fluid densities, and capillary forces.
