Biopolymer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000351
A naturally occurring polymer, such as xanthan gum or starch, derived from living organisms and used as an additive in drilling fluids. These polymers provide viscosity, control fluid loss, and suspend drill cuttings due to their long-chain molecular structures. They are often preferred for their environmental compatibility and shear-thinning properties.
