Bond log

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000398

A wireline log that evaluates how well cement is bonded to the casing and the formation behind it, using an acoustic tool with a transmitter and receivers. The cement bond log amplitude is the strength of the sound traveling along the casing, which is high in free pipe and low where cement is bonded tightly. A variable density display of the full waveform adds information about the bond to the formation.
