Butt weld

A type of weld that joins two pieces of metal, such as pipe sections, end-to-end without overlapping. The ends are prepared, aligned, and then fused together by heating them to their melting point. Butt welds are commonly used in pipeline construction and casing connections due to their strength and smooth internal profile.
