Field weld
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001393
A weld performed on site at a pipeline or construction location, rather than in a fabrication shop. This type of weld joins sections of pipe or other components that are too large or impractical to transport as a single unit. Field welds must meet stringent quality standards and are often inspected using non-destructive testing methods such as radiography or ultrasonic testing.
