Clevis

A U-shaped fitting with aligned holes in its two arms, through which a pin or bolt passes to join a rod, cable or link to another part while letting the joint pivot. It is used in linkages, hangers and lifting gear. The pin is loaded in double shear, and a cotter pin or nut keeps it from backing out.
