CMC-Hi Vis
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000714
A high-viscosity grade of carboxymethylcellulose, a polymer additive used in water-based drilling fluids. It primarily functions as a viscosifier to increase the carrying capacity of the mud for cuttings transport and as a fluid-loss control agent by forming a thin, low-permeability filter cake on the wellbore wall. This grade is designed to provide greater viscosity increase per pound compared to regular or low-viscosity CMC grades.
