A protective layer applied to the surface of equipment, pipelines, or other structures to prevent corrosion, erosion, or scaling. These materials form a barrier between the metal substrate and corrosive reservoir fluids or external environments. Common types include epoxy, polyurethane, and fusion-bonded epoxy coatings, selected based on operating conditions.
