Disbonding

The separation of a coating or lining from the substrate material it was applied to. In the oil and gas industry, disbonding can occur in pipelines or tanks, compromising their protective integrity and leading to corrosion. This issue is often caused by poor surface preparation, chemical attack, or cathodic protection over-potential.
