Cultural noise

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000924

Unwanted signals in geophysical data that originate from human activities or man-made structures. This noise can include vibrations from traffic, electrical interference from power lines, or magnetic disturbances from pipelines. Effective noise attenuation techniques are applied during seismic data processing to remove or reduce the impact of cultural noise on the subsurface image.
