Local magnetic interference
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002205
An anomaly in the Earth's magnetic field caused by nearby man-made objects or small-scale geological features. This interference can obscure the magnetic signals from deeper, larger geological structures that are the target of geophysical surveys. Sources include pipelines, well casings, power lines, and cultural noise, which must be identified and removed during data processing.
