Dual induction
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001213
A wireline logging tool that provides two simultaneous induction resistivity measurements with different depths of investigation: a medium induction (IM) and a deep induction (ID). These measurements are combined to solve for the effects of drilling fluid invasion on the deep resistivity reading. The tool typically includes a shallow resistivity device, such as a laterolog, to characterize the flushed zone near the wellbore.
