Dynamometer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001233
An instrument used to analyze the performance of a sucker-rod pumping system by measuring the load and position of the polished rod. It attaches to the polished rod and records data throughout the pumping cycle, creating a graphical representation of the system's operation. The resulting dynamometer card is used to diagnose downhole conditions, calculate pump efficiency, and identify potential equipment failures like parted rods or worn pumps.
