Formation exposure time
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001535
The duration that a specific subsurface formation has been open to the borehole environment, exposed to drilling mud and its filtrate. This time influences the depth of mud filtrate invasion and the thickness of the filter cake, which can affect logging measurements. Longer exposure times generally lead to deeper invasion.
