Gas show

An indication of natural gas encountered during drilling operations, detected by gas sensors in the drilling mud or by visual observation of gas bubbles. This presence suggests a hydrocarbon-bearing formation has been penetrated. The concentration of gas is measured in units such as parts per million (ppm) to assess the potential of the reservoir.
