Hydrocycloning
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001906
A mechanical separation process that uses centrifugal force to remove solids from drilling fluid. The fluid is pumped tangentially into a conical vessel, creating a vortex that forces denser solids to the outer wall and down to an underflow discharge, while lighter fluid exits through an overflow. This method is effective for removing fine solids ranging from 15 to 80 microns.
