Isochron
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002045
A line on a seismic section or map connecting points of equal two-way traveltime for a seismic reflection. It represents the surface of a specific geological layer as measured in time, not depth. An isochron map shows the traveltime structure of a subsurface horizon, which must be converted to depth using a velocity model to represent the true geological structure.
