Isochore
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002044
A contour line on a map connecting points of equal true vertical thickness of a stratigraphic unit. Unlike an isopach, which measures apparent thickness, an isochore accounts for the dip of the beds and the angle of the wellbore. These maps are used to visualize reservoir geometry and calculate hydrocarbon volumes.
