Laminated sand
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002117
A sedimentary rock formation characterized by alternating thin layers of sand and shale or other fine-grained material. These laminations can significantly affect fluid flow and log responses, as the shale layers act as barriers or conduits depending on their continuity. Special interpretation models are required to accurately evaluate hydrocarbon saturation in such formations.
