Laminar flow
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002116
A fluid flow regime characterized by smooth, parallel layers of fluid moving without lateral mixing. In this condition, fluid particles follow well-defined paths, and there are no eddies or cross-currents. Laminar flow occurs at low fluid velocities and is typically observed when the Reynolds number is below 2,000.
