LWD
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002240
The acquisition of formation and drilling data using sensors housed in the bottomhole assembly during the drilling process. Logging While Drilling (LWD) tools measure petrophysical properties like resistivity, porosity, and gamma ray, providing real-time information for geosteering and formation evaluation before the wellbore is significantly altered. Unlike wireline logging, LWD data is collected as the well is being drilled, eliminating the need for a separate trip into the hole.
