Microseismic monitoring

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002358

A technique used to detect and locate small seismic events, or microseisms, that occur within a reservoir during hydraulic fracturing or fluid injection. Geophones or accelerometers are deployed in nearby wells or at the surface to record the acoustic emissions. This method provides data on fracture growth and reservoir deformation.
