Moho

The Mohorovičić discontinuity, which is the boundary separating the Earth's crust from the underlying mantle. It is characterized by a sharp increase in seismic wave velocity. The Moho lies at an average depth of about 35 kilometers beneath continents and 7 kilometers beneath ocean basins.
